Today we arrived in Chuchurras.
The majority of the community gathered, along with their Jefes (leaders) to discuss the proposed project and goals. They're always welcoming and gracious, attending in native Yanesha clothing and offering fruit and sugar cane.
After the opening ceremony, we finally got to see firsthand the exceptional work they did on the well, well building, and tank slab. We spent the rest of the day marking the route for the pipe and taking stock of all the materials needed.
It was a scorching day for us Minnesotans. So we ended the day with a river dip and shopping for fans...
