Day 6: Chow no Adios

EWB team and cooks

Today was the last day in the community... sad to be leaving but all good things must come to an end.

In the morning we met up with Benjamin, the well builder, to tell us more about well spits he thought would be a good idea in the community. After some wonderful info and sad news that some of our sources included bedrock, we ended the day with lunch. We tied up loose ends at a large celebratory lunch and met up with the community leaders (pictured). This included chocolate cake of course! Also we provided some fun education materials, and by we I mean the wonderful Spenser who translated everything to the community. This included chlorination steps and other ways to purify water.

After a long lunch and a figurative siesta crisping in the sun, we headed home to get some more cost estimates for pumps and concrete. Then we headed straight for the river to COOL off and practice the art of rock skipping. I think Chris might've won several rounds. We headed back and ended the night with a good recap, some powerful stories and of course a game of cribbage. That's all folks thanks for listening in! Tomorrow will be the last post since the team will then disperse so looking forward to tomorrow.

P.S. we sleep 9-10 hours a day in the jungle.
